The Jacksonville Symphony has officially opened its season with strict physical distancing guidelines

We are back! After canceling more than 30 concerts between March and June, the Jacksonville Symphony has returned to the stage of Jacoby Symphony Hall. On Sept. 16 and 17, we welcomed the community back with two free open house concerts, and 500 people joined us each evening to experience the joy of live music.

And by the time you read this, another 500 people will have attended “Fanfare!” — our official opening night for the 2020-21 season. The Jacksonville Symphony is the first major performing arts organization in Florida to return to the stage; other organizations in the state will soon follow.

But what is the true significance of returning to Jacoby Hall and what is the journey we have led to get here?
